Engineering/Technical/R&D: Engineering
Designer - NASCAR (Concord, NC)
The Designer position is based in NASCAR’s Research and Development Center in Concord, NC.
Responsibilities will include:
Generate ideas, conceptual designs, solid models, surfaces and engineering drawings for a variety of assignments adhering to specified criteria related to the safety, cost and competition aspects of high performance vehicle components. Will work with engineering and competition teams to create and execute design solutions for issues that arise through vehicle performance and improvements to the officiating process.
The ideal candidate will have:
• Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a two year college or technical school; 4 year Engineering Degree is preferred
• A minimum of two years Design Engineering experience
• Experience and/or training in the use of CAD software, preferably Pro-Engineer
• Demonstrated experience in solid modeling and surfacing, preferably in Pro-E.
• Experience with GD&T strongly preferred.
• The ability to work in a fast paced, demanding environment
• Superb written and oral communication skills
• Time management skills
• The ability to travel 10% including weekends
