Description
The Style Network is the destination for women 18-49 with a passion for the best in relatable, inspiring and transformational lifestyle programming. PURPOSE: The Art Director, Print will conceive, develop and design innovative creative materials for the Style Network (domestic and International) including print and outdoor advertising, key art, marketing collateral material, brochures, logos, premiums, packaging, display graphics, and special projects.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Work closely with the VP Print & Online Design & Sr. Art Director, Print on all projects in order to meet the department’s objectives and goals
· Provide contemporary design support to Style by producing a high level of advertising and design across all mediums without sacrificing the strategies and goals set forth by the department and client
· Have a unique and exciting design aesthetic with an attention to typography, composition and style
· Able to manage a project from start to finish: from sketches, to comps, to directing a photo shoot, to the development stage, to overseeing a retoucher, to collaborating with production in the pre-press process, to create a final product
· Able to take direction, work collaboratively and participate in internal brainstorming sessions with other art directors and writers
· Maintain a thorough understanding of the creative and technical process, stay current with contemporary trends in typography, photography and design; and maintain expert knowledge of current software
· Understanding of the 4-color printing process and ability to handle press checks
· Improve the quality of work and efficiency of the department by maintaining technical standards, troubleshooting, archiving and building an organizational system and process for creative work
· Communicate effectively with all levels of the department and clients including preparing for presentations
· Work closely with Project Managers in order to deliver projects on time and on budget
· Prioritize workload and manage multiple projects efficiently
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· 3 years experience at design firm or advertising agency (Entertainment experience a plus but not required)
· Degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Film or comparable portfolio and experience
· Illustration and sketching ability a plus
· Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and execute national/international advertising television or theatrical campaigns
· Strong Macintosh computer skills, including a thorough understanding of graphics applications (Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign)
· Ability to take on multiple projects and produce cutting-edge work
· An original thinker with innate design sense and style
· Must have a collaborative approach, the ability to work with others and to professionally represent the department at all times
· Must be able to work a regular work week and willing to work some late nights and weekends
· A passion for the entertainment industry a plus
