Job Description
Under the direction of the Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications and Investor Relations, this position develops and implements communication strategies and programs primarily related to the corporate and business media for the Company and its divisions. The position serves as a primary contact on corporate interviews and executive speaking engagement requests and as media spokesperson on corporate and business issues. This person also oversees production of the company’s Annual Report and is charged with assisting the Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications and Investor Relations, on financial communication strategies and investor relations programs. The position interacts with all levels of management internally and with the media, investors, business groups, and production externally. RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Develop and implement a strategic corporate communications plan that furthers the company’s financial and business objectives. 2. Serve as primary contact for the media on all corporate matters, including pro-active communications with reporters and editors, pitching appropriate outlets and responding to requests. 3. Solicit, screen and oversee appropriate interviews, speaking engagements, and personal appearances for Chairman & CEO. Brief the Chairman & CEO on related issues prior to meetings and media events and prepare background information, presentations, talking points or speech outlines as needed. 4. Write, edit and oversee production of the Company’s Annual Report and other corporate documents. 5. Work with the Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications and Investor Relations on implementation of the financial communications/investor relations programs including earnings releases, announcements and other financial presentations. 6. Work with senior management in preparation and execution of media interviews and public appearance and accompany executives as appropriate. 7. Oversee press conferences and Company receptions including the annual meeting of shareholders and other investor functions. Represent Playboy at events and functions as requested. 8. Oversee internal company-wide communications, including monthly newsletters and employee meetings. 9. Handle media announcements related to new senior level PEI management changes and additions. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: One exempt QUALIFICATIONS: . College degree in journalism or equivalent, with at least eight years of public relations experience. . Strong writing, editing skills and project management experience necessary. . Must be able to work well under pressure and juggle a wide range of project assignments. . Understanding of basic financial information, required. . Must be willing to travel.
