Art Director, On Air Design - E! and Style

Description
JOB TITLE: Art Director, On-Air Design
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist Senior Art Director in maintaining and growing both E! and Style Network brands.
• Provide art direction and production guidance for all projects.
• Supervise and mentor on-air designers. This includes setting the example of excellent work habits and inspiring creativity.
• Maintain workflow efficiency. Identify areas in need of improvement and proposing solutions.
• Manage client expectations for each of their projects.
• Execute large-scale projects while simultaneously art directing various smaller-scale projects.
• Additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Academic qualification & experience
o Design degree and a minimum of 10 years industry experience, demonstrated by portfolio & reel.
o Network experience required.
• Design skills
o Excels in brand identity and packaging.
o Conceptual thinker.
o Expert skill & knowledge in typography.
o Able to solve problems at all levels.
o Expert skill-set in animation, choreography and editorial disciplines.
o Advance skill & knowledge in directing shoots.
o Advance photography and videography skills.
o Current with design trends and techniques.
• Technical knowledge
o Advanced knowledge of broadcast standards and equipment including post-production. Must be comfortable learning new technology and equipment.
o Expert ability in using software (After Effects, PhotoShop, Illustrator, Final Cut Pro, InDesign. Knowledge of Cinema 4D, Maya, Dekocast, Deko 3000 a plus.)
o Macintosh environment savvy. Must be able to trouble-shoot basic computer issues.
• Management skills
o Minimum of 5 years personnel management experience.
o Leads by example. Earns respect of colleges. Team leader.
o Clear communicator. Gives directions well.
o Excellent multi-tasking abilities. Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
o Organized.
o Appropriateness with confidential matters.
• Characteristics
o Honest.
o Good work ethic. Able to comply with company policies.
o Levelheaded, calm and functions well under stress.
o Passionate about design.
o Self-motivated and driven. Demonstrates initiative.
