Job Description
Associate Producer
Thirteen/WNET New York seeks an individual to serve as Associate Producer for its Great Performances and SundayArts programs. This position is ideal for those with a strong music, dance, or arts background and working knowledge of all aspects of television and film production.
The individual selected will assist in and take a supervisory role in coordinating all aspects of production including research, development, scheduling, production and post-production. The associate producer will oversee the production of SundayArts, including developing concepts, scouting locations, and contracting various talent and vendors as well as managing production and post-production for the series. The candidate chosen will supervise the contracting, execution and payment of all production personnel and talent. The candidate will be responsible for obtaining clearances and contracting of archival footage and stills. He or she will supervise all production records tapes and materials and will be responsible for the final archiving of production materials. The candidate will be responsible for supervising contractual correspondence and tracking it, assuring the accuracy of press and promotional materials, assisting producers in developing program concepts, assuring the artistic integrity or the projects and maintaining deadlines as well as acting as a liaison with outside production partners.
To be considered, applicants must have a BA/BS in Communications, Television & Film, Fine Arts, Music or related field with a minimum of five (5) years experience in the management of television program production and post production, specifically live, multi-camera production experience, to include the development and administration of production schedules and budgets and production staff supervision. They must demonstrate exceptional communication and presentation skills; exceptional planning, organizational, problem analysis and decision-making skills; and effective leadership and team working skills and the ability to work long hours when called upon to do so.
